"Crafting Community" Initiative!

Calling all crafters - I have a deal for you!  Are you a modern day artisan who wants to get photographs of your work for your Etsy shop?  Do you design clothing or create costumes but need someone to give your couture that polished look which will bring people to your website?  Do you have a storeroom full of merchandise gathering dust because you can't spare the time to properly image your products?  Well, languish no more my fellow artists!

Russ Matthews Photography is pleased to announce our "Crafting Community" initiative.  RMP will photograph your products - either at your location or at our home studio in the Hyde Park district of Kansas City - and give them a professional level polishing, using the latest versions of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.  Then, the photos will be resized for web use at a variety of sizes, burned onto a DVD-ROM and sent to you with a royalty-free usage license guaranteed to last the life of your business.

The rates for "Crafting Community" are:

1 to 20 pictures - $1.25/image

21 to 50 pictures - $1.00/image

51 to 75 pictures - $0.80/image

76+ pictures - $0.75/image

What do we mean by image?  I mean any final picture that is burned onto the DVD-R of the item, as specified by you the customer.  Let's take two examples of craftspeople as an illustration of what I mean.

Craftsperson A is a seamstress who specializes in period costuming.  She has three outfits that she wants to put on eBay and Etsy as well as put onto various costuming websites.  She commissions RMP to photograph her outfits from the front, back and sides as well as taking detail shots of the embroidery work on the hem and neckline and leatherworking on the belt of the outfits.  That means 3 outfits times 7 angles per outfit for a total of 21 images.

Craftsperson B is a sculptor of small display pieces and jewelry.  He has twelve pieces that he wants to sell on eBay, Etsy and his personal website.  Being jewelry pieces, he only needs one image per piece.  12 pieces times 1 angle per piece for a total of 12 images.

Now, you may be saying to yourself "Gee, this sounds pretty good but I really cannot afford this service.  I am barely making ends meet as it is."  And we here at Russ Matthews Photography understand how that is - we're artists ourselves!  That is why we are proud to say that we will gladly accept barter and trade in exchange for our photography.  Can't spare the money to pay for the photography of all your items?  We'll use the formula above to establish a baseline and start negotiating from there!

RMP wants to help you as an artist become successful which will help us become successful in turn.  Crafting Community is an attempt to do just that - craft the artistic community in the Kansas City area. Please feel free to contact russ@russmattphoto.com to ask for details or to schedule an appointment.
